When a photographer uses the Internet, he may have pictures that someone could use for an article or he may have something people would like to share. Why don’t the photographer add his name and copyright to the photo? That would take care of people needing to give credit to the photographer. Any picture that you use on the Internet can be used or taken. Otherwise, I would suggest not putting it online at all. When people add links on Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus, the picture automatically shows up anyway. When people see the name of the author and the copyright, everyone will know that the photo is copyrighted and belongs to someone. They will know that they cannot sell the photograph and own it, and should be free to share it since it is online anyway.
